Cloning requires ethical approval as it is a sensitive procedure. It involves use of human or animal cells that can be abused if not controlled.
Note: No human has been cloned anywhere in the world..not in the US, not in the UK..nowhere. What is currently cloned are human cells to study human development and also cure diseases such as Alzheimer’s and diabetes.
For Kenya, many scientists simply don’t participate in this as it is very expensive and requires specialized equipment that is not available locally. At the moment, Krnyan scjentists focus more on the problems that affect Kenya such as Malaria, pneumonia, etc.
