      @222heaa29 Family planning pills are used by women to prevent pregnancy – that is the primary intended effect. These work by preventing the release of the ova (egg) in readiness for fertilization, or by changing the mucous lining of the cervix so that sperms cannot penetrate or fertilized eggs cannot attach to the walls. However, as with each “pill” taken by an individual, they may have other side effects.
