      CFCs are chlorofluorocarbon. They contain carbon, chlorine and fluorine. In an earlier question Jay Oty and I explained why CFCs are harmful to the environment. You can check out the detailed explanation. In summary they cause depletion of the ozone layer and cause greenhouse effect.
