      Yes. The heart can be transplanted from one person to another. The history is very interesting. The first heart transplant was done in South Africa in 1967 by a doctor named Dr. Christiaan Barnard. He took the heart of a young lady who had been run over by a car and transplanted it into a man who was dying of a heart condition. The man of 55 years survived the surgery and was even able to walk and talk. Unfortunately he died just 18 days later. The biggest issue like with any transplant is rejection of the new transplanted organ by the recipient’s immune system. If the donor and recipient are correctly matched the success rate of heart transplant is very high.
