• Question: Why do new born baby cry when they are born

      Hi 226heaa28,
      It is because their respiration (breathing system) begins to work and crying allows the baby to quickly get oxygen into his/her lungs. This is why when a baby does not begin to cry shortly after birth the doctors/midwives will try to make the baby cry.
