      Hi Busa,
Fistula is a protrusion or hole a connection between two surfaces, caused by an injury, surgery, an infection or inflammation. Fistula can happen in any part of the body, the eyes, nose, ears, in the digestive system, genital organs – especially for women during birth (the obstetric fistula) . Obstetric fistula can happen at child birth due to injury during a prolonged child birth or infection etc where a hole develops between the rectum and vagina or bladder and vagina. This is a very uncomfortable condition for ladies because of the chances of other types of infections, social stigmatisation (because if the smell) etc. fistula can be treated by surgery.
