      Hi rale

Both yeast and baking powder are used to make bread or cakes rise. They both work by releasing carbon dioxide and increasing the volume of the dough. The difference is that yeast is a living organism while baking powder is a mixture of an acid and a base. Yeast releases carbon dioxide by fermenting sugars in the dough while baking powder release carbon dioxide when the acid and base mix when water is added.
